PROUD OF OUR HERITAGE PRACTITIONERS FASCINATED OVER ACTIONS IN SAFEGUARDING THE COUNTRY’S INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE

Members associated with the “Proud of our Heritage” Project here are said to be fascinated over actions in safeguarding the country’s Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH).

A News Conference highlighting the project was held this morning and attended by several officials.

It’s a project that has been supported by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, (UNESCO) safeguarding Grenada’s Intangible Cultural Heritage.

It also deals with safe-guarding age-old traditions and socio-economic cultural tendencies.

Social Scientist and Educator, Gloria Bonaparte, says main players in the education system, specifically the Nation’s teachers and students have a major role to play.

In the scheme of things, data collection is seen as vital, especially as it concerns elements of National heritage.

At the News Conference this morning Glen Forsythe assisting in the project, spoke of the documentation process being relevant when it comes to the jab jab in the process.

As it relates to the project, the collection of data is said to be a vital aspect of the resource guide.
