The Government has asked for a deferral for 2021 and the Unions had earlier given the Government a conditional ultimatum they’ll only defer the 4% wage increase up to the end of June this year and must be with a 0.5% interest for each month and the sum must be paid retroactively on the July pay day.
They also asked that Salaries docked from workers due to strike action September to December 2017 must be repaid in full on/or before the end of January this year to all workers who’ve been so affected.
The Unions were hoping for an agreement before the January-month pay-day, but that was not to be, and now, they rage over the matter.
As off tomorrow, the Unions have instructed their membership to engage in a mild protest sending the signal of their seriousness over the matter.
Wearing something red or black tomorrow in protest is the mood of the Unions.
