Some 31 police officers completed the training last week in this regard, designed at beefing up their mediation techniques, aimed at reducing the burden on the court system.

The training was all part of the regional justice reform project by the Canadian government, in collaboration with the University of the West Indies.

Regional coordinator of the Impact Justice Project, Professor Velma Newton, after the training, noted that Grenada’s mediation is in safe hands.

In the first instance she expressed being impressed with the RGPF’s management team concerning community policing and the provision of support for officers who experience trauma in the execution of their duties.
