Republic Bank (Grenada) bids farewell to its outgoing Managing Director, Keith Johnson.

The Word out is that Mr. Johnson, leaves the Grenada operations to take up a new appointment as Managing Director of Republic Bank in Suriname.

Sheena Phillip-Lynch picks up the story.

REPORT:

Johnson was reportedly seconded to Grenada from Republic Bank (Guyana) in 2009 and during his 12 years here as head of the Grenada operations, reports show he led the financial institution very successfully through what’s recognized as many turbulent economic challenges.

Statistics indicate that he was able to keep the Bank profitable, growing the asset base from 739 million dollars in 2019 to 1.8 billion as at February, 2021.

Mr. Johnson has also gone on record for the successful acquisition of the Scotiabank operations in Grenada in 2019, which restored Republic Bank as the largest commercial bank in the Spice Isle.

Johnson’s corporate social responsibility is said to be reflected in the Bank being awarded the ECCB’s Best Corporate Citizen Award on five out of nine occasions during his tenure.

He’s also said to have successfully negotiated and completed over 25 special projects under the Bank’s flagship “Power to Make a Difference “ programme, valued in excess of 1.3million dollars.

We understand there’ll be a new Managing Director, as of 1st April. She goes by the name Naomi De Allie.

The Board of Directors, Managers and Staff of Republic Bank (Grenada) Limited extend best wishes to Mr. Johnson, for good health and continued success, as he takes up his new assignment. Sheena Phillip-Lynch, Wee Fm News.
