It was a public holiday yesterday on the Sister Isles, as residents there got in the motion of 2022 Kayak Mas festivities.

According to organizers, with the COVID-19 pandemic still in mind, the festivities were scaled-back from the original versions masqueraders are accustomed to.

However, the atmosphere was abuzz with entertainment to the enjoyment of the residents on the Sister Isles, responding to the cultural events, which in several cases were punctuated with the traditional calypso music.

Pictures circulating on social media this morning showed Jouvert activities taking place on the sister isles.

Chairman of the Carriacou Carnival Committee, James “Skylark” Stafford, says the revelers had a wonderful time.

Skylark says the streets of Carriacou are alive.
