The nations lawmen have been rated highly for their vigilance displayed during the 2023 carnival.

Looking at the issue of safety and security of the festivity, Assistant Commissioner of Police, John Mitchell, at a News Conference this afternoon called by the RGPF, viewed the police conducting a remarkable job, paying specific attention to serving the citizenry through every detail.

In view of the carnival, the Police embarked on a series of information awareness programmes giving the public the assurance of their no nonsense pattern of surveillance in monitoring the safety of the State.

He noted they did a remarkable job for which the hierarchy of the Force is thankful.

He applauds the police officers steering the course.

ACP Mitchell believes the Nation’s citizens have gotten the message and has partnered effectively with the police to ensure the safety of the Nation.

Assistant Superintendent Ryan Hall of the CID gives US a rundown of the violations that occurred during the festive period Friday 11 to 16 August.

He says the carnival period proceeded with a commendable degree of safety and security, with officers being vigilant and proactive, and on this score it’s noted there’s a notable absence of serious crime directly related to carnival activities.

ASP Hall clarified that the shooting incident which occurred on Monday, leaving one man dead and another injured was not carnival related and the RGPF is doing all it can in dealing with the matter.
