There’s still no report on the missing persons from the sunken cargo boat the M.V. Fair Chance, which overturned on Saturday while it was travelling between Trinidad and the Grenadine islands with 7 men onboard.
Reports are that only two of the seven men aboard survived.
The Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard (TTCG) mounted a search for the five fishermen on Saturday.
According to reports from the Trinidad and Tobago coast guard, shortly before 4pm they received a distress call indicating that the St. Vincent and the Grenadines flagged vessel – The MV Fair Chance, had hit rough seas and sank after its cargo shifted.
Two men survived and were picked up by a vessel from the coast guard, five miles north of Monos Island.
The vessel was carrying a shipment of steel products that was loaded in Port of Spain.
Reports are that the ship’s Captain Dexter Chance who’s Grenadian by birth, but has been living on Union Island for several years are among those feared dead.
