Regional leaders including Grenada’s Agriculture minister, Senator Adrian Thomas was among several ministers from across the Caribbean and Latin America earlier this week updating plans within the framework of the 2030 Agenda of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).
The meeting sought to promote an increase in regional trade, economic development, and further economic cooperation among members to defend their growing economies; against the backdrop of challenges such as the COVID-19 Pandemic and the war in Ukraine.
Minister Thomas joined other regional heads as they reviewed the current state of Agriculture in the CELAC region, including challenges and opportunities facing farmers and agribusinesses.
They reportedly explored ways in which member states can cooperate to achieve greater food security and sustainability.
