A SOD-Turning Ceremony is due to take place Friday marking the start of work on the infrastructure development of Fort George.

It’s all part of an OECS Regional Tourism Competitiveness Project, which has been at the forefront of discussion in the sub-region last year, and, among other things, aimed at establishing a Heritage Tourism Network.

At a meeting of the OECS Heritage Tourism Project Steering Committee in December, the whole business of stakeholder engagements and project proposal validation was reviewed.

The OECS Heritage Tourism project is funded through the 11th European Development Fund (EDF) Regional Integration through Growth, Harmonization and Technology (RIGHT) programme.

The sod-turning ceremony Friday relative to the commencement of the project will take place three in the afternoon, at the Parade Ground (Upper Square), Fort George, Grand Etang Road, St. George’s.
