1, 026 Boys and 880 Girls from various primary schools across the island were into the first of two days writing the (external) component of the Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment (CPEA) exam.

There was no exam last year, cancelled due to the onset of the mysterious COVID-19 pandemic.

Reports are that principals and teachers of the several institutions have over the months been engaged in intense preparations with students for the two days of exams, today and tomorrow.

The teachers, the Nation’s students, as well as educational experts here, have been holding out hope and feel confident of a good performance.

In our last dispatch on this subject we told you that Ministry of Education has commended the teachers for their unwavering support during this difficult COVID-19 period, preparing the students for the exam.

The exam affords the primary students the opportunity to step onto a higher stage of learning…their passport to secondary school.
