As Grenada’s Carnival gets into a fast-paced preparatory mode, especially with the Queen Show, one of the major aspects of the festival, and with expected community party revelry, emphasis is being placed on manner of behavior enshrined in regulation, as far as keeping a safe and secure scene is concerned.
This formed the basis of this morning’s discussion on the WeeFm’s Mid-morning programme series with the Police, where SpiceMas CEO, Cecil Noel, was a guest.
He says carnival is usually being controlled each year by stipulated regulations and this time Mr. Noel specifically outlined that people should resist being clad in costume which depicts the Nation’s security forces.
He says citizens must be mindful of the regulations, especially there are several tenets relating to portrayal of costume.
Mr. Noel looks at other tenets relative to guiding behavioral control, respect for religion, among other things, is also stipulated that should be avoidable.
The SpiceMas CEO is urging citizens to be familiar with the regulations and they speak about explosive flame, carrying or displaying any lude, offensive signs, placards, posters or designs, as well as persons should refrain from reciting any offensive song.
SpiceMas CEO says citizens must make an effort to ensure they are knowledgeable about the do’s and don’ts at carnival time, so as to avoid getting into conflict with the law.
