St. Patrick West MP, Anthony Boatswain, tells Grenadians to have their priorities straight.
He was speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives yesterday, considering the impact COVID-19 has on countries around the World and the attitude of citizens congregating over the past few days in carnival-like fashion, even on the cancellation of the festivity this year.
Looking at the deadly Coronavirus, Boatswain says itโs having a terrible effect on several economies and livelihoods.
Focusing on the situation here at home, Boatswain calls for what he terms โa balancing actโ, taking into account health and safety and the economy.
In so doing, heโs calling on the population to exercise greater caution.
Boatswain lamented grievously, the revelry in the past days indicative of the carnival spirit despite Grenadaโs efforts to contain community spread of COVID-19.
Boatswain describes as shocking, the activity in St. Patrick, seen Tuesday, and which was labeled โJumperโs Jouvertโ.
