Superintendent Essau Pierre of the RGPF given the task of spearheading the Crime-fighting Unit expresses his appreciation for the confidence placed in him within the hierarchy of the Force.

Pierre was called upon to take charge of the Unit which had to grapple in recent times with what’s seen as an upsurge in crime, especially with the several shooting incidents that have taken place.

He tells the public that the “battle is not lost”.

Speaking at an RGPF-scheduled News Conference yesterday, Pierre was asked about concerns surrounding what appears to be the infiltration of cross-border criminal activity and whether investigators are setting their sights in that direction, paying specific attention to the trappings of the Dexter Chance shooting Monday this week.

Focusing on criminal matters outstanding for resolution, the Jonty Robinson case was highlighted and Assistant Commissioner of Police, Vannie Curwen, spoke of being optimistic of a positive outcome.
