The Mirabeau Abattoir in St. Andrew will soon undertake an initiative seeking to further improve efforts to strengthen food security and risk management.

This will come to fruition through support from the CARICOM Development Fund (CDF) and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (llCA).

IICA which conducted a thorough assessment of the area is also playing an integral role in securing funding from the CDF for the project.
