Seven second-year students of the T.A Marryshow Community College’s General Agriculture Programme, met and held discussions with Agriculture Minister Peter David, and Acting Chief Agricultural Officer, Trevor Thompson, last week.
That was one of the second-year students Jude Fraser, who initiated the talks through the submission of a letter to the Minister for Agriculture.
Jude is one of the students who are on the verge of completing their two-year tenure in the course.
The students have developed practical knowledge relative to crops and have been exposed to the use of modern scientific and business-like approaches to agriculture and farming.
Acting Chief Agricultural Officer, Trevor Thompson, said that this will later contribute to the adaptation of the negative impacts of climate change, the alleviation of malnutrition and ultimately, the enhancement of food and nutrition security.

Minister for Agriculture, Peter David, was very much pleased with the engagement.
He committed the Ministry’s support to the group and says that talks related to education in various fields of agriculture, have begun with other countries.
The General Agriculture Programme is one of sixteen (16) Associate Degree programmes being offered at the T.A Marryshow Community College.
