The Grenada Technical And Allied Workers‘ Union (TAWU) stepped up its protest today griping over the dismissal of one of NAWASA’s workers, Andy Lewis, sent home over the past three months.

The Company’s Board of Directors is said to have terminated Lewis’ contract through retrenchment.

He’s one of the former contract workers whom the union had waged the Red December struggle for in 2017, ending  2018.

When the Authority dispatched on the matter, in the earlier plea by the Union, it said it would not change its decision.

In solidarity with Andy Lewis, TAWU had resorted to wearing Red Union T-Shirts in what its president general, Andre Lewis, say was their first form of protest.

Today, TAWU raised its protest level picketing NAWASA’s head office on the careenage and marching through the streets of the city pleading for public support.

TAWU’s President General says the union will take the necessary steps as they see fit.
