The political organization, the Grenada Movement (TGM), says it will not participate in the upcoming election cycle.
This is enshrined in a statement it released today, saying that it’s decision has come after much consultation with members and upon careful reflection.
According to the statement the TGM decision is due in large measure to the collective belief that, as a party, it needs to be more firmly grounded in the consciousness of the Grenadian people.
TGM further says it has already taken the decision to work internally to continue readying the organisation for the task of governing Grenada and has taken note of the public calls for more internal work to be done.
The Statement says TGM is firm in its commitment to provide the people of Grenada with a genuine developmental alternative, and, as such, will continue its evolution with the same diligence and vigilance that has become the party hallmark.
It also speaks of continuing to advocate and champion the issues such as poverty and the working poor, unemployment, and food and nutrition insecurity.
TGM says it’s aware that its supporters are disappointed by the decision to not participate in the next general election cycle.
However, it believes there’s a need for the building of a strong institution that will give the Grenada people the representation they deserve.
