In celebration of International Credit Union Day 2020, The Communal Co-operative Credit Union Ltd has focused on this year’s theme of ‘Inspiring Hope for A Global Community’ with donations to the Grenada Pink Ribbon Society and the Windsor Forests Pre-Primary School.

With the international call for co-operatives, to inspire hope, Communal showed its commitment as an agent of inspiration in the midst of this COVID-19 pandemic.

A cash donation was presented to Ms. Rhonda Chittram, representative of the Pink Ribbon Society, at the Grand Anse Business Centre by representative of Communal, Mr. Carlon Gabriel. Communal in its social corporate responsibility gesture also did a pinning ceremony of branded pink ribbons to bring additional awareness and support to breast cancer. This gesture will continue for the rest of the month of October, with pink ribbons being distributed to members of the credit union at its five locations.

The principal and staff were in receipt of sanitising solution, branded Communal masks and mason jars. This donation to the preschoolers will aid in the maintenance of health and safety of the school with the present protocols measures for the prevention of COVID-19.

Both recipient groups showed their appreciation for the gesture from the Credit Union in thanking them for their donation. They spoke of the timely need of the donations as and the great value to both their organisations.

The Credit Union has continued to be a part of the development of its members and Grenada community through signature programs such as the Rodney Mauricette Memorial Scholarship, Brian Campbell Empowerment Program, Erma Whint Memorial Fund.
