The GCF And SMC Meets With The Traditional Individual Mas Band Association

Representatives of the Grenada Cultural Foundation (GCF) and the Spicemas Corporation (SMC) recently met with the Traditional Individual Mas Band Association (TIMBA) to discuss the involvement of traditional mas  in Spicemas 2025.

This meeting sought to open dialogue on the concerns of traditional masqueraders. The main areas discussed were:

∙ Judging criteria for the traditional mas competition

∙ Total sum and early payment of Subventions

∙ Recommended Parade routes

∙ Street DJs and other musical accompaniment in carnival

The Grenada Cultural Foundation was instrumental in the establishment of  the TIMBA as it continues to empower Grenada’s cultural practitioners while  preserving and promoting the island’s rich heritage.
