The Grenada Chamber of Industry and Commerce (GCIC) is imploring on the business community not to take advantage of the COVID-19 situation and engage in price gouging.
They’re also encouraging individuals not to participate in panic buying.
The GCIC is urging citizens to remain calm as it closely monitors the development of the virus and its effects.
The Chamber strongly condemns any actions by businesses seeking to capitalize on fear and uncertainty, by raising prices on vital supplies.
GCIC notes that retail and distribution industries has assured that there’s an adequate amount of food and other supplies available in Grenada for at least a few months, with increased supplies on order.
The Chamber is encouraging individuals to adhere to the advice from Health officials, practice social distancing and proper hand, cough and sneeze hygiene.
