The farmers representative in the Senate, Roderick St. Clair, applauds the move with the recent exportation of fresh mangoes to the United States.

Wednesday last week, Grenada made its first commercial shipment comprising three varieties of mangoes – Julie, Ceylon and Graham-the exploits of well-known trafficker Patrick “Carlo” King.

The shipment was made possible, following the lifting of an almost twenty-year ban imposed by the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service.

Speaking at a meeting of the Senate last week, the Farmer’s Representative applauds the move.
