The parishes in the nation given a role to play in the country’s 50th independence anniversary celebrations!

This was mentioned last evening at the launch of the year-long activities, which started off with many facets of Grenadian culture, including folklore and culinary.

The celebration also intends to reminisce on the country’s history focusing on colonial political control and onto the road to independence.

Addressing the audience at the Carenage launch, Head of the National Organizing Committee, Dr. Wendy Crawford, appeals to people within the Parishes to be “limitless and creative in their thinking”.

At the launch last evening, the anniversary theme, logo and song were released.

The theme features “One People, One Journey, One Future” and the Logo portraying the spirit of the citizenry male and female in an expression of being free off colonial rule 50 years ago.

The video/song presentation falls directly within the creativity and mixture of remarkable melodic voices, highlighting Grenada with pride.

The Independence Song, splendid! “Grenada 50, Up from Here”.

Dr. Crawford says Grenada is on display with a portrayal of a unique spirit.

Signaling the celebrations officially launched, together with the Governor General and representatives from Carriacou and Petit Martinique, Prime Minister, Dickon Mitchell, urged citizens to look to the future.
