The Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) gives the public the assurance of zealously guarding their safety and security this festive carnival season.

It has embarked on a series of awareness programmes in this regard.

Speaking on Wee FM’s “We Carnival Invasion” early morning programme, ACP John Mitchell says so far things are under control, showing a general reduction in carnival-related incidents.

ACP Mitchell says while the RGPF is confident of ensuring a clean scene, there are persons out there who feel they can use the festive period as a means to their criminal intent.

He, however, calls on citizens to be aware of such situations.

In readiness for the carnival season, ACP Mitchell says the RGPF has conducted a complete risk assessment to identify risks, hazards, threats and vulnerabilities, so as to plan operations.
