OECS Director General, Dr. Didacus Jules, applauds the re-appointment of the Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, Grenadian Economist, Timothy Antoine.
Dr. Jules pointed in the direction to the many innovations Antoine has spearheaded, since taking control of the administrative affairs of the Bank.
He says Governor Antoine’s tenure has been characterized by a highly collaborative approach to the shaping of the Eastern Caribbean Economic Union.
He has been a passionate champion of financial inclusion and under his watch, the ECCB is the first central bank in the World to have issued a digital version of its currency.
The OECS Commission is looking forward to the deepening of collaboration with Antoine as he embarks on his renewed mandate.”
Antoine’s new five-year term commences Monday, 1st February.
Antoine says “It’s his distinct privilege to serve the governments and people of the Currency Union and is looking forward, with the support of the Council, Board and the Bank’s team, to the implementation of the Programme of Action for Recovery, Resilience and Transformation, as well as the Bank’s new strategic plan.
