Members of public service Unions took to the streets of the city today protesting for their 4% salary increase, which the Government said it cannot pay at this time, due to the economic fallout because of the COVID-pandemic.
Today was regarded “Red Day” by the protestors, who were cladded in something red.
Protestors tooted horns, waved placards and chanted slogans, in pursuit of their 4% salary increase.
WEE FM microphones were on the streets and caught up with the newly-elected President of the Public Workers Union (PWU), Brian Grimes, who noted that the protest will continue until the Government answers the Union’s call.
PWU President, Brian Grimes.
The protest in the city is one of many by the Unions already held in their Nation-wide campaign.
