A retried Airline Pilot from the USA was yesterday slapped with a 4,000-dollar fine in a court here, after pleading guilty on firearm and ammunition charges.
A police report noted that last Sunday 14th January 2024, 66-year-old Richard Cyrus Lockman, a citizen of Minnesota, USA, was arrested and charged for the offences of Possession of Illegal Firearm and Possession of Ammunition.
The charges were laid against him following the discovery of 1 Smith & Wesson 9 milli-metre Pistol and 4 rounds of ammunition in his luggage at the Maurice Bishop International Airport.
He subsequently accompanied officers to his yacht at La Phare Bleu, St. George, where a search which was conducted revealed 23 rounds of Ammunition and six Warheads.
Lockman appeared at the St. George’s Magistrate’s Court yesterday and pleaded guilty to the charges.
He was reportedly fined 4,000 EC dollars, which was paid.
