Greetings from the management, principal and staff of St. Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School (SAASS). We take this opportunity to inform you of the procedure for reopening of school for the academic year 2020-2021.
Having been informed of the plans of the Ministry of Education last Tuesday and the intention to continue operating under the Covid-19 protocol, the school has made specific plans to cater for the safety and wellbeing of all students and staff. Consequently, our school will be operating on a rotation schedule as of September 21, 2020.
During the week of September 07 to September 11, there will be a series of orientation meetings as follows:
Monday September 07 – Form 1
Tuesday September 08 – Form 2
Wednesday September 09 – Form 3
Thursday September 10 – Form 4
Friday September 11 – Form 5
All meetings will begin at 9:00 a.m.
Please note that these meetings are for students only as we will not be able to accommodate parents at the same time. To ensure physical distancing, students will be placed in classrooms at 6ft distancing from each other. Prayers and worship and dissemination of general information will be via the PA system. Students will be reminded of the Covid-19 protocols, the school rules, operations and expectations. Forms 1, 2 and 3 students will be expected to have their photos for their school IDs taken. Form 1 students are also expected to receive their registration packages (report books, PE uniforms, recorders) once they are ready to be distributed. All students will receive their class schedules.
A series of meetings will be held for parents during the week September 14 to September 18 in the following manner. All meetings will be from 9 a.m.
Monday September 14 – Form 5
Tuesday September 15 – Form 1
Wednesday September 16 – Form 4
Thursday September 17 – Form 3
Friday September 18 – Form 2
We also take the opportunity to invite you to the virtual launch of our school’s website which will be taking place on Sunday August 30, 2020 at 3:30 p.m. via Zoom.
