As of yesterday, over 8,000 Grenadians are said to have so far received the first dose of the Oxford AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.

That’s according to information embedded in Grenada’s COVID-19 update dash board.

The Grenada Government last month rolled out its vaccination campaign and to date 8,424 persons have been vaccinated.

Community head nurse, Audrey Lyons, who manages the Expanded Programme on Immunization, says they’ve received no reports of major side effects to date.

Nurse Lyons says she’s satisfied with the response so far and is encouraging persons to come forward and get vaccinated.

Nurse Lyons makes an appeal to Grenadians to avoid falling prey to misinformation about the vaccine and added that the official source of information should be the World Health Organization and the CDC.

In an effort to ensure many persons can get vaccinated with ease, the government through the ministry of health has set up a mobile unit at the ministerial complex.

Vaccines are also being administered at health centers across the tri-island state.

At the ministerial Complex, Public officers, including permanent secretaries and persons who went to conduct business at the site last Friday are said to have received their first dose of the vaccine.

After receiving the Jab, some persons shared their sentiments.
