The captain of the West Indies female cricket team, Stafanie Taylor, praises Grenadian female leg-spinner, Afy Fletcher, for her performance Monday this week in their second one-day game against England.
West Indies defeated England by 38 runs.
Fletcher, who batted in the tail-end compartment, ended with a 14-run account and came back with the ball to take 3 for 20 off 9 overs.
Fletcher partnered with Deandra Dottin who captured 4 wickets.
Praising Fletcher, Taylor said, and in her words, “Afy Fletcher actually gave us a chance in the game, and overall we did well. Afy has grown a lot.”
Taylor went on to state that whenever she’s in trouble and need quick wickets Afy is the person she can depend on.
The next match, the 3rd one-day between the two teams, takes place Friday in Trelawny, Jamaica.
The men’s team will be engaged in their first test against Pakistan starting tomorrow in the UAE.
