St. Patrick Crown City strikers, Pure Grenada Cup defending champions, started their 2019 campaign on a sour note.
Crown City Strikers, playing the feature game in a doubleheader on the opening night Saturday was pushed under the carpet.
They lost to St. John Dolphins 2-nil.
The goals were scored one in each half, in the 37th minute by Damian Ross and from the penalty spot in the 82nd minute by Garth Thomas.
In the opening game of the evening, Grenadian professional, Jamal Ray Charles was on fire netting a brace in St. Andrew Big Parish Stars’ 3-nil victory over St. Mark Western Stars.
The other goal was scored by youth player Jamal Gittens.
The three goals were scored in the first half…the 11th, 12th and 32nd minutes.
