It is now the 5th consecutive day Grenada has been recording high temperatures, classified by the MBIA meteorological office as a “heat wave”.
It’s been in the region of over 31.7 Degrees Celsius.
The persistent heat has been attracting an uncomfortable feeling and Grenadians have been speaking out.
A Met Office official says the heat pattern is nothing unusual to previous years.
For the same time in August 2008, it’s said that there were 9 consecutive days of record high temperatures, and, in the past, the month of September is known to have had more extreme temperatures.
September 2007 holds the record with 11 consecutive days of temperatures of 31.7 degrees Celsius or higher.
Monday’s temperature recorded at midday was 32 degrees Celcius.
The met office has put out a notice advising citizens how to cope with the high weather temperatures by staying hydrated, cut back on alcoholic consumption, avoid closed spaces and look after the young and elderly.
