The Senior Agricultural Economist Mr. Winston Dawes for the World Bank Projects in the region and his team wrapped a visit to Grenada Thursday, as part of an Implementation Support Mission (ISM) for the Regional Agricultural Competitiveness Project (AGRICOM), implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture & Lands and Forestry and Cooperatives.
During the mission, the team visited Allied Aggregators as well their Farmers, and Agro Processors; that are benefitting from project, to get better understanding of challenges and accomplishments of the beneficiaries, while at the same time examining loopholes with the implementation and identifying further support available for the Government of Grenada, farmers and productive alliances.
Their observations, findings and recommendations were presented to the Minister for Agriculture & Lands, Fisheries & Cooperatives, Senator Adrian Thomas and Permanent Secretary Aaron Francois.
Their mission here began on Monday September 12th and concluded September 15th
Grenada OECS Regional Agricultural Competitiveness Project (AGRICOM) is a six (6) years (2017-2023) project, through financing agreement by the Government of Grenada and the World Bank (International Development Association (IDA) and International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD)) in the amount of US$ 4 million.
