Its World Press Freedom Day Today Under The Theme “Information As A Public Good”.
Grenadian media practitioners today joined their counterparts around the globe in observing the UN-designated World Press Freedom Day.
The occasion served as a call to affirm the importance of cherishing information as a public good, and explore what can be done in the production, distribution and reception of content to strengthen journalism, and, among other things, to advance transparency and empowerment.
The theme, “Information as a Public Good” is meant to be of urgent relevance to all countries around the World.
On this World Press Freedom Day 2021, UN Secretary-, António Guterres, noted global challenges that the press has endured in the period of the COVID pandemic. The United Nations Secretary-General made a call on governments, to do everything in their power to support a free media.
