PR – Grenfin Swim Club Grenada has once again claimed the championship title and the George A. Menezes Challenge Trophy at the Lucozade Grenfin Invitational Swim Meet 2026, securing the top spot for the fifth consecutive year. This remarkable achievement follows a two-year hiatus of the event during the COVID 19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021.
A flagship event on the national swimming calendar, the Grenfin Invitational serves as the Grenada Amateur Swimming Association (GASA) sanctioned OECS National Swim Team Qualifier.
Over 150 swimmers from clubs across Grenada competed over four days, vying for the opportunity to represent the 34-member OECS National Swim Team at the 34th OECS Swimming Championships, which will be held at the Rodney Heights Aquatic Centre in Saint Lucia from 6 to 8 November 2026.
This year’s invitational also welcomed eight swimmers from RR Aquatic Swim Club of Saint Lucia. Their participation provided valuable competition for Grenada’s young swimmers and helped prepare them for the level of performance expected at regional events.
Grenfin emerged as overall champions with 1,538 points, followed by SolidBase Triathlon and Swim Team with 1,301 points, RR Aquatic with 364 points, Sailfish Swim Club with 291 points, and unattached swimmers with a combined 13 points.
At the conclusion of the four-day competition, the following swimmers were crowned Age Group Champions:
- Girls 6 & Under: Kaelah Octave, RR Aquatic Swim Club
- Boys 6 & Under: Nelson Wilson-Louison II, SolidBase Triathlon & Swim Team
- Girls 7-8: Tyler Charles, Grenfin Swim Club Grenada

Following the meet, Coach Romain of RR Aquatic shared the following sentiments:
“On behalf of the entire RR Aquatic team, I would like to sincerely thank the Grenfin family for welcoming us and making our first international club meet such a wonderful experience. We truly appreciated the hospitality, support and warm treatment throughout our stay. The Grenfin Invitational was a valuable and memorable experience for our young swimmers, parents and coaches. We look forward to returning and continuing to build this special relationship between Grenfin and RR Aquatic.”
Grenfin wishes to express its sincere gratitude to the invitational’s title sponsor George F. Huggins through its Lucozade Energy brand for their generous support over the past 10 consecutive years. Without their commitment, the high standard and continued success of the invitational swim meet would not have been possible.
Grenfin Swim Club looks forward to the completion of the Grenada National Aquatic Center in time for next year’s invitational, where the club hopes to welcome more local, regional, and international teams to experience the excitement of competitive swimming in Grenada.
