As part of our mandate, the St.Andrew Development Organisation (SADO) continues its efforts to help the people of the parish of St. Andrew. Support was provided to over 80 families, the St Andrew Health Centres and the RGPF Eastern Division, (elderly, persons with disabilities, single parents and other family homes). Several bags of food supplies, meals, toiletries and clothing were distributed; especially the homes where there were children. In the upcoming weeks an additional 40 families will be identified for support. President Royan Charles and the team extend special thanks to the Grenada Cultural Foundation and Ministry of Culture for the support given over the years and more so this year. “They understood our vision and assisted in achieving our mission”.
“Together We Are Stronger” 2021. The support to our Breast Cancer Heroes goes beyond just creating awareness. As part of Breast Cancer Awareness month 2021, the team will provide tokens from various “Forever Friends”. These include but not limited to Living Essentials, W Andrew & Associates Seamoss, HUSH Wholesaler, BRU Printers, MarZY Artz, Health Herb, Douglas Farms, Bikaholixs, SpringSide Enterprise, Topp FM, Pixel Resolution Inc, the Chinese Agricultural Mission and Floyd Matthew.
In addition, we will continue with our Survivor Series, which highlights the stories of women that have survived this dreaded disease. The stories will be published on all our
Social Media Platforms- Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter. The Survivor Series aims to highlight the experiences of women; to share hope and faith with those battling with the disease. Another initiative will be the “Wall of Hope”. This wall will be used to convey messages of hope, love, strength and unity with the reminder that they are not alone. This wall was donated by owners Roy Berkeley and Kevin Antoine, Birch Grove, St Andrew. Everyone is welcome to add messages. Ms. Andrea Noel will lead this initiative.
SADO is also designating October 29th, as our official “Wear Pink Day,” to support the affected and to continue raising awareness on one of the leading causes of cancer death in women in the world.
