Message from the Grenada Bureau of Standards

As we commemorate World Standards Day 2026, the Grenada Bureau of Standards
(GDBS) reaffirms its commitment to the development, adoption, and promotion of
standards that support sustainable development and contribute to the achievement of the
United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“The entire standards system is built on collaboration. It is a testament to the power of
cooperation and the shared belief that we are stronger when we work together. By
combining our knowledge, expertise, and resources, we can develop practical, real-world
solutions that empower people, strengthen industries, protect consumers, and address
sustainability challenges head-on.” (Reference: World Standards Day Message 2026).

Standards play a vital role in building a sustainable future. They promote quality, safety,
efficiency, innovation, environmental responsibility, and consumer confidence. Through
collaboration with government agencies, the private sector, industry stakeholders,
consumers, regional and international standards organizations, GDBS continues to
advance a culture of quality and excellence across Grenada.

Our commitment extends beyond the establishment of standards. It encompasses raising
awareness, supporting compliance, strengthening national quality infrastructure, and
ensuring that products and services meet applicable requirements. These efforts help
create a fairer marketplace, improve competitiveness, protect public health and safety,
and encourage responsible use of resources.

Achieving the SDGs requires collective action. No single institution or country can
address the challenges of sustainability alone. By embracing standards and working
together, we can build resilient industries, promote sustainable consumption and
production, encourage innovation, and help secure a better future for present and future
generations.

On this World Standards Day, GDBS celebrates the partnerships and collaborative efforts
that make standards effective and meaningful. We invite all stakeholders and citizens to
recognize the value of standards and to join us in making quality, safety, and sustainability
a shared national priority.

Together, through standards and collaboration, we can build a safer, more
sustainable, and more prosperous Grenada.

Happy World Standards Day 2026!
