The RGPF reminds members of the public about with Emergency Powers Regulation paying particular attention Sections 9 and 10 speaks to Religious Instructions and Restrictions on events and gatherings.
REPORT:
As it relates religious instruction, Religious institutions are required to ensure that pilgrims wear masks are subject to regulation 2 (3) and may operate in accordance with– (a) the requirements to wear masks, maintain 6 feet physical distancing and sanitization protocols.
The same applies for funerals.
Religious instruction by electronic or virtual means is not restricted.
A wedding held at a place of religious instruction may host the number of persons who can be accommodated in compliance with the 6 feet physical distancing protocol.
A person may hold or attend an event or gathering hosting no more than seventy-five persons, provided that the venue can accommodate the number of persons, in compliance with the 6 ft. physical distancing protocol.
As it relates to recreational or competitive sporting events or gatherings, they may be hosted provided that the venue can accommodate the persons in compliance with the 6 feet physical distancing protocol in accordance with regulation 5.
The Commissioner of Police, in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer, may grant written permission to a person, business or organization to increase the number of persons who can be hosted at an event or gathering, with reference to sub-regulation (2).
The RGPF is appealing to the public to avoid any breaches of the regulations.
