With Christmas day A mere 30-and-a-half hours away, Grenadians continue making the most of their preparation to have an enjoyable celebration.
The streets, as well as shops and business places throughout the country, have been bustling with activity.
People are caught buying up on household items, food and other goodies, together with decorations that go with the yuletide season.
There’s the reminder that Christmas was absent last year, with Grenada caught with the rest of the World fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, which came with many restrictions for the public’s health and safety.
With the spread of the virus somewhat under control, Grenadian authorities have elected to open up the State to some form of normalcy, still looking through the microscope for any evidence of the virus attacking our shores.
It has been a welcome sign, which the Ministry of Health in particular, has been encouraging citizens to keep their guards up and maintain vigilance, paying specific attention to the COVID-19 protocols for their protection.
With the festive occasion in full swing, the Nation will be addressed tonight by Prime Minister Dr. the Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell.
In the spirit of Christmas, Dr. Mitchell will seek to offer guidance to the populace about throwing all caution to the wind at around this time, since COVID-19 is affecting countries around the globe.
This, among many other issues of national importance.
Dr. Mitchell’s National Address will be broadcast simultaneously at 8 this evening on radio and television stations, as well as GIS Channel 22 and GIS Facebook page and You Tube Channel and other social media platforms.
It’s the general view that despite the merriment, the well-being of the Nation remains paramount.
