The Ministry Of Health is reporting that over the past 24-hour period, 7 new active COVID-19 cases have been detected, bringing the figure to 19 in the past two days of surveillance.

12 were reported yesterday.

REPORT:

The update says there are now 61 active cases on the island, bringing the cumulative4 confirmed cases to 5,940, since the virus was first observed here March 22 last year.

Off that number, there have been 5,679 recoveries.

The latest update shows no new recoveries.

There have been no deaths, but 2 persons are currently being hospitalized.

The 7 new active cases, the report says, have been identified on the basis of some 141 tests that were conducted yesterday. 

An additional 85 persons received the second dose of vaccine yesterday, bringing the number of persons receiving the second jab to 35,542.

The partially vaccinated population is 5,789.

57 additional persons received booster doses yesterday, bringing that number overall to 1,789.
