Grenada, together with the rest of the world observed the occasion held each year on the second Monday in March.

This year’s celebration is held under the global theme ‘Delivering a Common Future’.

The day’s observance also precedes this year’s Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), centred around the theme ‘Taking Charge of our Future’.

The event is expected to highlight how the 54 member countries in the Commonwealth family are ‘innovating, connecting and transforming’ to help achieve goals like fighting climate change.

The CHOGM is set to take place in Kigali, Rwanda between June 19-21, 2022.

The meeting will bring together the Leaders of the Commonwealth grouping to work towards a future of peace and prosperity.

Grenada’s Foreign Affairs Minister Oliver Joseph marked the occasion while expressing gratitude for the technical support the commonwealth has given in the development of Grenada and its people.
