Jason Alexis, 42 years, Labourer of Chantimelle, St. Patrick, was arrested and charged for the theft of one hundred and fifty pounds of Avocados, valued at seven hundred and fifty dollars ($750.00 ECC) that was reportedly stolen from a farm at Chantimelle, St. Patrick. The offence was committed on 17.7.2022.
In a separate incident, Kelvin Benjamin, 48 years, Farmer of Gouyave Estate, St. John, was arrested and charged for the offence of Unlawful Possession of fourteen (14) pounds of breadfruit, valued at seventy dollars ($70.00ECC). The offence was committed on 20.7.2022 at Gouyave, St. John.
Alexis and Benjamin were brought to the St. George’s Magistrate’s Court, today (21.7.22) and were remanded to custody at Her Majesty’s Prisons. They are scheduled to reappear in court at a later date.
