According to a dispatch by the Government Information Service, Prime Minister, Dickon Mitchell, is suggesting the need to rethink some of the operations of the Royal Grenada Police Force.
Concerns were raised pertaining to the force being stretched thin with officers undertaking duties that maybe better suited for civilian organizations.
Prime Minister Mitchell, under whose Government portfolio Security of the Nation falls, recently held audience with the lawmen attached to the Carriacou and Petite Martinique police stations.
The Prime Minister made mention of a critical matter within the Force, relative to delays concerning recommendations towards the Pay and Grade System.
He says the Government’s Negotiating Team is already engaging the Police Welfare Association in discussing the matter.
