MEN CHARGED FOR POSSESSION OF FIREARM AND AMMUNITION, ROBBERY, AND ASSAULT

Another police report shows two men charged for Possession of a Firearm and Possession of Ammunition, as well as robbery and assault have been granted bail to the tune of twenty thousand dollars with two sureties.

Officers attached to the RGPF’s Rapid Response Unit carried out an operation last Saturday and intercepted a vehicle travelling along the Westerhall Public Road.

A search of the vehicle revealed 1 Glock Pistol and 2 rounds of ammunition.

As a result, two of the occupants of the vehicle, 30-year-old Alie Charles, a Mechanic of La Taste St. Patrick, 22-year-old Ryan Cato, a Cashier residing at Boca, St. George, were arrested and charged for Possession of a Firearm and Possession of Ammunition.

Both men were also charged for Robbery with Violence in relation to an incident which transpired earlier that day, Saturday 14, at Chapel Road, Grenville, St. Andrew.

In a separate incident, Alie Charles was charged for assaulting a 16-year-old, male of Pomme Rose, St. David, with a Deadly Instrument, namely a gun.

Charles and Cato were taken to the St. David Magistrate’s Court, yesterday and were each granted bail.

As part of their bail conditions, they are required to surrender all travel documents, and report to separate police stations every Monday and Thursday between the hours of 6 in the morning and 6 in the evening.

They are to re-appear in Court Wednesday 29th March, 2023.
