PRIME MINISTER DICKON MITCHELL ADDRESSES REGIONAL SECURITY SYSTEM (RSS) COUNCIL OF MINISTERS MEETING

High-Ranking Government Officials are today attending the Regional Security System (RSS) Council of Ministers meeting here in the Spice Isle and the emergence of gun-related crime was mentioned in opening addresses as an area of concern.

Grenada’s Prime Minister, Dickon Mitchell, Chairman of the RSS, in his address, reflected on the work of the RSS in recent times called upon to invoke peace, disturbed by gun crime.

He made note of the situation in St. Lucia and the gun-killing that reared its ugly head here in St. John last evening.

Prime Minister Mitchell gives the assurance of the capability of the RSS, as the region seeks to handle emerging security threats.

Relating to cross-border crime, the Grenadian Leader says there’s the acknowledgment by the RSS that criminals and their associates adapt continually to a changing environment.

He says the RSS must keep abreast.
