The Mt. Kumar Road Project which connects the Beaulieu main road on the east to Grenville Vale Road and onto Beausejour on the western side of the island is now opened to pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

Residents of the area can now enjoy improved accessibility, as the Road provides an alternative to the Mt. Moritz Road, given the land slippage at Moliniere.

The construction was done to the tune of 15 million dollars.

A brief ceremony was held last Friday, to commemorate this significant milestone.

Prime Minister, Hon. Dickon Mitchell commended the contractors and the ministries of MIT and Infrastructure development for ensuring that the project was completed in a timely manner.

Parliamentary representative for St. George North East Hon. Ron Redhead explained that the Mt. Kumar road is an important alternative route, to connect the North West and the western corridor.

The construction was done by Gilbert & Partners Engineering Company.
