RGPF REMINDS THE PUBLIC OF BURNING POLICY DURING DRY SEASON

The Fire department of the Royal Grenada Police Force is calling on individuals to be mindful of others when they engage in the burning of bush, during the dry season.

The RGPF says it’s important that consideration be given to neigbourswho may be affected or suffer with acute respiratory illnesses.

The dry season typically runs from January to May.

Head of the Fire department superintendent Adrian Panchoospeaking on Wee Fm’s midmorning programme, gave a stern warning about setting fires and having consideration for one’s neighbour.

Panchoo says there’s legislation in place to address the issue and the penalties range from a fine of $500 and imprisonment of 3 months.
