In preparation for its 50th Independence Anniversary the Grenada Government anticipates the approval of a celebratory 50 EC dollar note to mark the occasion.

In a national address last week to mark the first anniversary of his administration, Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell says a request was made to the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) for approval of the note, citing the celebrations will commence in earnest in September this year.

Prime Minister Mitchell also announced that a special committee led by Dr. Wendy Crawford, which includes a representative from each parish, has been appointed to organize and manage Grenada’s 50th independence anniversary celebrations.
