A three-member delegation will represent Grenada at the highly anticipated “2nd Caribbean Youth Forum on Drug Use Prevention”.
That’s according to a release from the Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports, and Culture.
The team comprises Elon James, a Community Youth Associate who will also play the role of “Team Lead”, along with CARICOM Youth Ambassador (Designate) Abigail Ellis and Kerine Fancis-John, two outstanding youth participants.
The forum will take place from July 28th to August 4th in the Bahamas, and serve as a platform for collaboration, innovation, and youth-led initiatives to combat drug abuse in the Caribbean region.
Team Lead, Elon James, says the group’s expertise and insights will undoubtedly contribute significantly to the discussions and initiatives aimed at preventing drug use among Caribbean youth.
The 2nd Caribbean Youth Forum on Drug Use Prevention is a unique opportunity for young leaders from across the Caribbean to collaborate, exchange ideas, and develop innovative strategies to address the challenges posed by drug abuse.
Grenada’s presentation will be based on the theme “One Sober Grenada”…Ms. Francis- John elaborates on the concept.
During the forum, delegates will engage in interactive workshops, panel discussions, and networking sessions, allowing them to build connections with fellow youth leaders, regional stakeholders, and international experts in the field of drug use prevention.
Ms. Ellis says the team looks forward to the engagements.
In addition to representing Grenada at the 2nd Caribbean Youth Forum on Drug Use Prevention, the three-member delegation will also celebrate World Drug Day 2023, as part of the forum.
