Soroptimist International Grenada (SIG), celebrating its 52nd anniversary, has been applauded for its work as it concerns empowerment of the Nation’s women and tending to the social development needs of disadvantaged communities.

Sister Allison Mitchell of the Catholic faith is head of the Grand Anse Social Development Centre, which, over the years, has received hands-on assistance from the Soroptimist grouping.

She finds the grouping’s efforts very rewarding.

In recognition of their long-standing advocacy, Soroptimist International Grenada, will, tomorrow, stage an educational seminar that will look at the effects of human trafficking.

Soroptimist Lorice Pascal says the engagement is worth the while, with human trafficking now a global phenomenon.
