At the Court today, we understand that the man charged in connection with the shooting incident at Mt. Egmont on carnival Monday did not reappear, as it was scheduled.
22-year-old Yohance Charles of Woburn, St. George, was charged with the offences of Abetment of Capital Murder, Abetment to Attempt to Commit Capital Murder, Possession of a Controlled Drug, and Possession of Ammunition.
This is on account of the shooting death of one of two occupants of a dwelling house in Mt. Egmont.
The other individual was injured.
Charles appeared in court for the first time on August 21 and was remanded to His Majesty’s Prisons to reappear, but was nowhere to be seen.
Upon inquiry, no reasons were given, except that we were told a new date has been arranged for him to reappear.
Charles will return to court on the 27th of November, 2023.
